### [CVE-2017-12628](https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2017-12628) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Product&message=Apache%20James&color=blue) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Version&message=n%2Fa&color=blue) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Vulnerability&message=Privilege%20escalation&color=brighgreen) ### Description The JMX server embedded in Apache James, also used by the command line client is exposed to a java de-serialization issue, and thus can be used to execute arbitrary commands. As James exposes JMX socket by default only on local-host, this vulnerability can only be used for privilege escalation. Release 3.0.1 upgrades the incriminated library. ### POC #### Reference No PoCs from references. #### Github - https://github.com/AdeliaNitzsche/Java-Deserialization-Cheat-Sheet - https://github.com/BrittanyKuhn/javascript-tutorial - https://github.com/GrrrDog/Java-Deserialization-Cheat-Sheet - https://github.com/PalindromeLabs/Java-Deserialization-CVEs - https://github.com/klausware/Java-Deserialization-Cheat-Sheet - https://github.com/mishmashclone/GrrrDog-Java-Deserialization-Cheat-Sheet
